[PSRList] RSTP in Edmonton, Alberta & Next Upcoming Training Session

Dear Sponsoring Community,

I’m writing to share with you information about the next upcoming RSTP training session in Edmonton, Alberta.

I would also like to inform you that as of July 4th, 2017, RSTP now has a Trainer established in Edmonton, Alberta. I'm pleased to be that Trainer and look forward to working closely with sponsors and stakeholders engaged in the Private Sponsorship of Refugees (PSR) Program throughout Edmonton and Alberta.

In-person training sessions will begin to be regularly scheduled in Edmonton, starting with multiple training sessions on a variety of sponsorship topics that will be announced in the coming weeks.

The first session that will be organized in Edmonton will be on the topic of Sponsoring as Group of Five. All those interested are invited to be in attendance for this free public training session. Please find further information on this training session below:

Sponsoring Refugees as a Group of Five - Information and Updates
When: Thursday, August 3, 2017 5:45 - 8:00 PM
Where: Highlands Public Library, Program Room, 6710 118 Avenue, Edmonton, AB, T5B 0P3

This training session is for new sponsorship groups and interested community members who wish to form a Group of Five.

Join the training session to learn about:
-Recent changes and updates to the PSR Program;
-Specific requirements for Groups of Five;
-Eligibility and admissibility requirements for refugees being sponsored;
-The sponsorship process;
-How to identify an acceptable proof of refugee status;
-Which forms need to be completed; and
-The One Year Window (OYW), why it is important and how it works.
