[PSRList] Upcoming workshops for private sponsors, volunteers, and settlement workers in Nova Scotia

Good morning everyone,



RSTP is offering several workshops for private sponsors, and volunteers and settlement workers working with privately sponsored refugees, in the upcoming weeks across Nova Scotia. All workshops will be very similar and focus on Supporting the Settlement of Private Refugee Sponsorship.



These workshops are an opportunity for both new and experienced sponsors to come together and share their experiences. I will present information on best practices and effective strategies for challenges, and facilitate discussion on the following topics:



*                      Settlement challenges & best practices

*                      Boundaries & ethical aspects of sponsoring & volunteering

*                      Cultural sensitivity

*                      Managing expectations

*                      Working together and conflict resolution

*                      Empowerment and self-determination
