[PSRList] Tips on Refugee forms & Groups of Five

Dear List Members,

 

If you are a member of a Group of Five or assisting a Group of Five, and are
preparing an application form, please make sure that:

 

1.      The Principal Applicant (i.e.: main refugee applicant) has been
recognized as a refugee by either the UNHCR or the government of the country
of asylum (i.e.: where they live now), and

2.      All 5 group members live in the same city or town, and

3.      At least 3 group members can make a financial contribution or all of
the funds required for the sponsorship are being held in a separate trust
account, or there is a combination of funds held in trust account and income
from individuals.

 

Please note that the proof of funds for funds held in a trust/bank account
must be a letter from the bank that:

-        Is printed on official bank letter head

-        States the name of the 2 group members who have access to the
account

-        States he purpose of the account (i.e.: for the sponsorship of
name])

-        States the name of the bank

-        Includes how much money is in the account

-        Includes original signature from the bank official 

 

Attached, you will find a checklist we have compiled that we hope will help
you in completing the refugee's forms, as well as the Group of Five forms.
