[PSRList] RSTP Information Sessions in British Columbia - April 22, 23 and 25

Dear colleagues,

RSTP will be in British Columbia to conduct three different information
sessions from April 22 - 25th. 

Two information sessions will be held in Vancouver, and one will be held in
Nanaimo. Please see below for details of all three events. 

Please circulate this information (and posters attached) through your
networks.

Title:              Introduction to Private Refugee Sponsorship

Description: This information session is geared towards people who are
interested in forming a Group of Five, Settlement Workers or others who
assist with Group of Five application forms, and community members who are
interested in learning about refugee sponsorship. 

Topics include:

-          What is private refugee sponsorship?

-          What are Canada's various resettlement programs?

-          Who can sponsor refugees?

-          Who can be sponsored?

-          What is the sponsorship process?

-          What are the responsibilities of being a sponsor?

-          What is the application process?

-          What is important to remember while filling out the application
forms?

Title:               The Private Sponsorship of Refugees (PSR) and Blended
Visa Office Referred (BVOR) Programs

Description:  This information session is geared towards local Sponsorship
Agreement Holders (SAHs), their Constituent Groups (CGs) and interested
community members. 

Topics will include:

-          Sponsoring Syrian refugees & the Turkey Pilot Project

-          Blended VOR Program & refugee profiles available

-          Settlement (with a local guest speaker)

Title:           Refugee Sponsorship Forum

Description:  The Central Vancouver Island Multicultural Society is holding
a refugee forum about the sponsorship of Syrian refugees. Speakers include
representatives from Citizenship and Immigration Canada, the Refugee 

                   Sponsorship Training Program, Immigrant Services Society
of B.C, and the Nanaimo Refugee Sponsorship Group.
